On April 15th, in Brasília, the 2025/2026 edition of the Pro-Ethics Program was launched by the Comptroller General of the Union.
This program, which in its 14 years of existence has received 1,163 applicant companies, evaluated 920, and awarded 260 prizes, features a revision and updates to the requirements from previous editions.
Of particular note is the inclusion of specific criteria linked to the socio-environmental responsibility agenda and the defense of human rights by companies, following an international trend already consolidated by the UN, OECD, and European Union, which highlight the importance of such business practices.
In the 2025-2026 edition, federal state-owned companies in the financial and oil, gas, and energy sectors, under direct and independent control, will once again be evaluated.
Another innovation is that, in this edition, new requirements for admission to the Pro-Ethics Program include prior adherence to the Brazil Pact for Business Integrity and presentation of a certificate of no outstanding debts from IBAMA (Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources), integrating environmental aspects into the evaluation.
Applications will be open from May 5th to June 5th, 2025, with the list of approved companies expected to be released in March 2026.
Participation in the Pro-Ethics Program not only offers official recognition of the company’s commitment to integrity, but also strengthens its reputation, promotes access to opportunities, prevents legal and financial risks, and fosters a safer organizational culture, improved internal processes, and enhanced governance.
In an increasingly demanding and conscious environment, commitment to ethical practices is not just a differentiator, but a fundamental requirement for business sustainability and reinforces the company’s commitment to integrity and the sustainable development of society.
Acting ethically is not only the right path, but also the smartest and most lasting one.
