Last Tuesday, the 28th, the S\u00e3o Paulo State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic) arrested a gang that operated an industrial scheme for counterfeiting beer in the interior of the state.<\/span><\/p>\n

The operation involved searches and seizures in the capital and in the municipalities of Rio das Pedras (SP) and Limeira (SP), in the Piracicaba region.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ricardo Ravagnani<\/span><\/a>\u00a0, a lawyer specializing in Corporate Criminal Law at\u00a0<\/span>De Vivo, Castro, Cunha e Whitaker Advogados<\/span><\/a>\u00a0, highlights the importance of joint action between police authorities, companies, and lawyers. Furthermore, Ricardo explains that “it’s work we do in conjunction with the police authorities. We provide information so they understand whether a product is counterfeit or not. It’s not always obvious that a particular product is counterfeit. Lawyers know their clients’ products better than the police. The police conduct the investigation, monitor, track, and with our support, they can catch them in the act, which is ideal in this type of situation, as it generates immediate losses for the gangs.”<\/span><\/p>\n
